Install Your Wall-Mounted Tub Faucet in 11 Simple Steps
#1. Measure your faucet and desired location
Of course, you want to properly position your bathroom fixtures comfortably.
So, carefully measure how high you want to position your wall-mounted faucet from the tub.
#2. Set up wood bracing
It’s important to set up a bracing between your faucet location and the wall.
Be sure that the distance between the faucet and the wall is around 2 5/16 (or 2 7/16) inches.
#3. Secure the faucet body to the bracing
Using a power drill, screw the faucet body to the bracing and make sure everything is at a level.
#4. Check your water valves
Before proceeding, make sure your water supply is turned off to avoid accidents if you’re installing a hot and cold setting.
#5. Connect faucet parts
Attach the hot and cold water supply lines to the body of the faucet.
Tip: Wrap the threaded connection points using Teflon tape for added security.
#6. Connect the water pipes
Be sure your water pipes are well-fitted to your faucet body to prevent leakage.
#7. Run a water test
After installing the pipes, turn on your water supply and check if there are signs of leakage, especially at the connection points (e.g. between the faucet body and supply lines).
#8. Cover the wall
Before proceeding, you might want to finish covering and designing your wall for a clean look.
#9. Drill a faucet hole
After covering the back wall, be sure to drill 3 holes in the front wall where you want your faucet to be positioned.
Each hole must be 1.25 inches in diameter for the faucet handles and spout.
#10. Assemble other faucet parts accordingly
Be sure to tighten the faucet spout properly in a 6 o’clock position to prevent leakage.
#11. Run a water test again
To be sure, open the faucet handle one at a time to check for water flow.
This is also a perfect way to flush out any dirt or debris inside the faucet and the pipes.
